Biomass
Another clever form of waste reduction and reuse in our area is the use of pine beetle kill wood as a potential energy source. A group of nonprofits including CORE, For the Forest, Flux Farm, the Aspen Global Change Institute, and the Sopris Foundation, supported by the Governor’s Energy Office, are conducting a comprehensive assessment of woody biomass heating potential.
